Room size was small but great for a solo traveler, the bed was positioned against the wall, but for a solo traveler, fine to just roll out of bed to one side. Had a tv, desk, and chair by the window with a small table. Spacious bathroom for Japan with tile. The drain was hidden away by a stainless steel piece that could be moved. Tub was a fantastic size for a bigger(near 6', 200+lb) man to fill up and relax in without trouble, with high sides. Ended up soaking the entire four days that I stayed. Inserting the room key by the door turned on the lights, flushed and cleaned the toilet and turned the tv/air on. The room came with a safe(not always a guarantee at other places in Japan), kettle, and pants press, of all things. The bathroom had a retractable clothesline built into the wall which I did use a couple of days since it was rainy. Washing machines in Japan are great, but dryers are not nearly as powerful, to which I would utilize the clothesline, especially after sink washing or tub washing a few articles of clothes that got wet the previous day. The location of this hotel, off of the main street and quiet, but still local to a subway station and 15 minutes walking from entertainment like a Round 1 or Donki, fit my needs as a traveler perfectly. There's an attached Matsuya through a sliding glass door with a touchscreen ordering system with English available that serves breakfast items but also lunch/dinner.

The property is in a quiet area and well maintained. Teramachi street which is a huge shopping area is just 7-8 minutes walking. Even Nishiki market is less than a kilometre. It’s just 300-400 metres from the subway so very convenient. Rooms have all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay. The best part, I was supposed to stay there for five nights but because of some urgency, I had to cut short the visit and I could stay only three nights. I was unable to modify the booking because I was already at the hotel reception and the cancellation time was over. The hotel staff itself modified my booking and charged me for three nights only. I am really thankful and grateful to them.

Friendly, professional service with English speaking receptionists that made me feel welcome. Centrally located, close to Karasuma Oike Station, restaurants, and shopping. Within walking distance to a lot of attractions. Matsuya, the restaurant downstairs, was a great casual, affordable option--and the food was great! And there's a Fresco grocery store just a block away. My single room was compact (small by Western standard), clean, quiet, and comfortable, with a small refrigerator, electric kettle, and flat screen TV. WiFi was good. The bed was firm, comfortable, and extra long (I'm 6' 0"). This is my second stay at a Hotel Unizo. Great value and service. Highly recommended!

Their room size is roughly as small as other hotels, but their room is just so well-designed in a way that the space is utilized much more efficiently. The shape of the desk is unconventional so that we have more desk space. The couch even has a little table for your drinks. The bed is so comfortable that I overslept lol and missed half day of my trip lol. I love the bathroom too. Anyway, this hotel is perfect for solo travellers. The only overall downside for me is perhaps the location(8/10 still) But the closest subway station is also a major subway station, which empowers a lot more possibilities. Check out time i believe was 12 noon, which was nice.

Close to various kombini, it has an in-house Matsuya outlet, in case you want to eat something. Service is very friendly, and I could communicate effectively even with my limited Japanese. The room was immaculate, and correctly sized -- this is Japan, after all, and rooms are small in general; that being said, this one was very reasonable and quite comfortable. I enjoyed every day of my stay. Personally, I think it is very good value for money.
